LA City College
LA City College is a public community college located in East Hollywood, California. It is part of the Los Angeles Community College District, and is located on Vermont Avenue, south of Santa Monica Boulevard. The campus was the former home of the University of California, Los Angeles. Today, it has an enrollment of over 16,000 students. Founded in 1962, LA City College offers associate degrees in a variety of fields. Its motto is “Be a part of something better, and make it better.”
The college’s campus is located on 175 acres in the north-eastern part of the city. In 2016-17, the school offered 42 certificate courses and 71 degree programs. The college offers affordable, vocational and degree programs for both adults and students with dependent children. The college also offers some private classes through the Herb Alpert Foundation. In addition to its affordable, accessible classes, it also offers transfer and certificate programs. The school is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The main phone number at LACC is not answered. The main phone line goes to voicemail, which is useless for contacting a college representative. Also, LACC departments take a long time to respond to emails, whereas other schools in the district and beyond respond quickly. Fortunately, LACC requires students to use the cranium cafe for communication with campus staff. You can also take classes online. The flexibility of the online classes makes them perfect for working adults.
